Question: Prius or Civic?

I’m looking at the new 2008 Prius and the 2008 Civic Hybrid (recommendations on trim would be great, too, since the ratings I’ve seen are drastically different per trim). I’ve done a lot of research already and it’s coming up pretty close. I don’t know if the Prius has gotten any easier to repair since the last model or if the Civic lives up to its nearly 50 mpg claim.

I’m not concerned with cargo room, space, performance (I mean this in the “idiots-racing-their-cars” way, not the steering/braking/turning etc), or looks. This is gonna be my first car…please help me make a good choice
Would it be horrible to say that I personally like the Prius’s streamlined look? I’m aware most people don’t like it, but as I said earlier, I don’t care what the car looks like. I’m much more impressed by fuel economy, comfort, and safety.

Question: Is toyota prius becoming the best car to save money on gas.?

There was a documentary film I saw a year ago called “who killed the electric car?” It was very interesting to know that in the 90′s we finally developed an electric car than ran better that gas powered engine. Prius and other hybrid vehicles are the closest these oil companies will allow the American public to drive in an electric based car

Toyota Prius and Honda Insight both gives 60 in the city
but Toyota Prius give 51 on Hwy and Honda Insight give 66 on hwy.

Whatever you choose, it’s great that you are thinking ahead about gas mileage.
